34-year-old WWE star set for first televised singles match in nearly a year
WWE has announced the highly anticipated in-ring return of a 34-year-old star. He'll be stepping back into the squared circle for his first televised singles match in almost a year.
Ashante "Thee" Adonis hasn't wrestled on TV since he participated in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal on the April 5, 2024 episode of SmackDown before WrestleMania XL. Although the former Hit Row member has been performing on live shows or in dark matches, his last televised singles match was against LA Knight on the July 28, 2023 installment of the blue brand.
Mr. Stone and General Manager Ava pulled some strings to bring back the 34-year-old star to the NXT brand. Recently, WWE confirmed that Ashante Adonis will be battling Oro Mensah of The Meta-Four in a can't-miss match on the July 23, 2024 episode of the white and gold brand.

Ashante Adonis and his WWE tag team partner called out The Judgment Day
A few months ago on Friday Night SmackDown, it was revealed that the former Hit Row member formed a brand-new tag team with Cedric Alexander. The two men have faced teams such as The O.C., and Pretty Deadly in several dark matches.
In a comedic vignette to hype the team of Ashante Adonis and Cedric Alexander's team, the duo put the entire WWE tag division on notice and called out The Judgment Day. As of now, the faction comprising Damian Priest, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, and Rhea Ripley is on the Monday Night RAW roster.
The Judgment Day hasn't yet responded to their tag team challenge. However, the group has previously ventured down to the white and gold brand, with Dominik Mysterio holding the North American Championship twice during his time there.
Only time will tell if Ashante "Thee" Adonis will emerge victorious against The Meta-Four member on next week's edition of Tuesday Night NXT.
