35-year-old WWE Superstar is in "no rush" to wrestle Roman Reigns in first-time-ever match
While speaking with Mike Jones on DC101, Intercontinental Champion Gunther shared his thoughts on a potential match with Roman Reigns.
The Ring General was drafted to the red brand during the 2023 WWE Draft. He is regarded as one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions of all time and has held the prestigious title belt for almost a year.
While speaking with Mike Jones on DC101, Gunther shared his thoughts on a possible clash with Roman Reigns somewhere down the line. He made it clear that he's in no hurry to kick off a feud with The Tribal Chief.
He also acknowledged the fact that many fans want to see him take on the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
"I think there’s no rush with that. I think he’s doing his thing right now and I’m very focused on doing my thing. I didn’t really have an urge to seek out that confrontation yet but, like you said, down the line it’s one of the matches fans are looking forward to."
Roman Reigns' current title reign has impressed Gunther
Roman Reigns is WWE's top superstar at the moment. He hasn't lost the Universal title in three years and has held the WWE title for over a year at this point.
Gunther had the following to say about Reigns' dominant reign as the top champion:
"It's impressive. Yeah, I think that pretty much sums it up because it's a situation that never has been there, in that way. And it's continuing. So it's gonna be interesting to see where it goes," said Gunther. [H/T WION]
Both the champions are scheduled to have a match at Night of Champions Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia. While Gunther will defend his title against Mustafa Ali, The Head of the Table and Solo Sikoa will collide with Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
Roman Reigns and Gunther have been presented as two unstoppable forces on WWE TV for a while now. When the duo eventually collides, it's bound to be a spectacle that fans wouldn't want to miss for anything.
