36-year-old RAW star issues a subtle warning to John Cena for his 2025 retirement run despite speaking to him backstage
John Cena is set to call it quits on his in-ring career as 2025 comes to an end. With 36 dates, there are only a few opponents he can have proper feuds with. One superstar who met him backstage and had a conversation with him issued a subtle warning.
That superstar is the Australian "Big" Bronson Reed. The rising 36-year-old star has been on a path of destruction on Monday Night RAW and seemingly put his name in the hat as a possible opponent for the former franchise player of WWE.
Speaking to nine.com.au, Bronson Reed described John Cena as a "consummate professional" after having met him before. He described Cena's passion for the business and revealed that they had a twenty-minute conversation backstage where Reed was able to pick his brain for advice:
"When I was in NXT, he spoke to me for a good 20 minutes about the business and I was able to rack his brain for questions because he has done everything."
Despite this, he issued a subtle warning to the man many consider the greatest of all time:
"But now that he's coming back, I consider Monday Night RAW to be my ring."
WWE is reportedly planning a blockbuster match for John Cena on his retirement tour
There's been a lot of talk about the possible names Cena could face in his retirement tour. Big current stars such as Gunther.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio exclusively on Backstage Pass, there have reportedly been internal discussions over a match between John Cena and Logan Paul.
This would likely happen at a big premium live event, perhaps in Saudi Arabia or possibly even in a big four event. Logan Paul has been getting better in the ring every year and to many, he's on par with other top stars as he also possesses the showmanship aspect required for a field like pro wrestling.
In terms of one-off matches, it's going to be interesting to see what WWE has planned for Cena.
