36-year-old shares heartfelt message ahead of major title match on WWE SmackDown
A popular WWE SmackDown star has shared a heartfelt message ahead of a huge title match this Friday night on the blue brand. This week's episode of blue brand will be the final show before Money in the Bank 2024 this weekend.
A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller) are the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions and captured the titles at WrestleMania XL. The duo will be defending their titles against #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) this Friday on SmackDown.
Ahead of the match, Gargano shared a message on X/Twitter and noted how important Scotiabank Arena is to him. He noted that #DIY won the NXT Tag Titles there in 2016 and now he has the chance to win his first title on the main roster on this week's episode of SmackDown.
"You could make the argument that no arena has meant more to my @WWE career than the Scotiabank Arena (Air Canada Centre). We won the NXT Tag Titles there in 2016, I returned to WWE there in 2022, and now we have a chance to win our first WWE Tag Titles on Smackdown this Friday," he wrote.
Former WWE star praises Johnny Gargano as a human being
NWA Champion EC3 recently spoke highly of Johnny Gargano and said the veteran was a great person.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws show last year, EC3 shared that Gargano is very kind and is overall a good person. The veteran added Johnny Wrestling has a unique sense of humor and the two stars had a great relationship back in the day.
"We've always had a great rapport. We have been on the same indies together. When I did that hot little angle with Evolve, he (Johnny Gargano) was a part of that. And then, in NXT, we worked a couple of times. He's uniquely himself. He's very humble, he's very kind, he's a very nice guy. He has a quirky sense of humor. He's overall, from what I've gathered, a legitimately good human being," said EC3. [From 01:16 to 01:45]

Johnny Gargano is a former NXT Champion but has not had the same success on the company's main roster. #DIY were also NXT Tag Team Champions once and it will be interesting to see if Gargano and Ciampa can defeat A-Town Down Under this Friday on SmackDown to capture the titles.
