36-year-old star teases match against John Cena with a cryptic post

John Cena recently announced his retirement from WWE and revealed details regarding his final run in the ring. A 36-year-old star posted a cryptic message on social media seemingly teasing a match against The Greatest of All Time. This was TNA's star Joe Hendry.

There are a handful of stars who are hugely over with fans at the moment. However, not many non-WWE stars are as over as Joe Hendry, thanks to his recent NXT appearances in addition to his existing popularity.

Hendry appeared on the latest edition of WWE NXT, even as fans kept chanting his name. He teamed up with Trick Williams in the main event of the show and defeated Shawn Spears and NXT Champion Ethan Page in a tag team match.

Soon after the show, Joe Hendry took to social media to post a photo of John Cena’s appearance at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. The image shows Cena holding the following message for his fans:

"The Last Time is Now."

Joe Hendry posted the photo without any caption. The 36-year-old may have teased a match against The Cenation Leader with the image. Some fans also think it may be the final time they’ll see Hendry in WWE under the current partnership with TNA.

John Cena could have his final match against fellow WWE legend

Many potential opponents are waiting for John Cena in WWE. He could put many newcomers over before riding off into the sunset at the end of the next year.

Meanwhile, wrestling analyst Sam Roberts thinks that Cena should have his last match against a long-time rival. Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling Podcast, he said facing Randy Orton in his final match would be perfect for the legend.

"I really feel like John Cena's last match should be against Randy Orton. I don't think the two should touch at all [until Cena's final match], and at the very end, the end of December [2025], maybe there is a special pay-per-view... You can do a special premium live event that is simply called 'Thank you, John,'" said Sam Roberts.

It would be great to see the two on-screen arch-rivals face off one final time in Cena’s final match. Fans would love to see them go at it again before The Greatest of All Time bows out.
