36-year-old WWE Superstar makes an emotional statement after returning from a 4-month injury hiatus
A WWE Superstar returned to RAW after being away on a four-month-long injury hiatus. Last week, the 36-year-old returned to the Monday Night show and got her revenge against the stars who had injured her. Dakota Kai has now made an emotional statement after her comeback.
The Damage CTRL member fought her last match alongside IYO SKY against WWE Women's Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill in a losing effort on July 27, 2024. She later got sidelined with a vicious knee injury that required surgery. On the show, she was attacked by Pure Fusion Collective to write her off television.
She aligned with her teammates IYO SKY and Kairi Sane to take on PFC last week to take her revenge. This week, she was featured in a vignette where she talked about the doubts she had before returning to WWE.
“For the last four months, I've been on the sidelines, and when you're away from the action, self-doubt just gets stronger by the day. Then people see you smiling, and they question your drive, even though you're just trying to keep it together because you can feel your dreams slipping through your fingers. You tell yourself, 'Oh, when I'm healthy and come back, everything will be better,' but then on the upside of that, maybe there isn't a place for me here anymore; maybe people just don't care," she said.
However, she also said that she has never wanted to wrestle more than she is yearning for it now and will take her WWE career to new heights.
“So you have to get to a point and ask yourself, honestly, 'Am I good enough?' I'm telling you right now, with everything that I have, I've never wanted this more, I've never loved this more. And I'm ready to show everyone why Dakota Kai is a chance for me. I'm ready,” Kai said.
It would be interesting to see what impact she will have after returning from the shelf and reuniting with Damage CTRL.
