37-year-old star reveals if he feels betrayed by Triple H after WWE lets him go without an explanation
The Triple H regime in the WWE has visibly been kinder to talents who had a rough time under the old management. However, some names still didn't see their fortunes improve, with Dijak recently opening up about his exit.
Dijak ended a seven-year run with WWE, during which he became one of NXT's top names and was known among the company's best big guys. The 37-year-old revealed that World Wrestling Entertainment had chosen not to renew his contract, and he spoke to Forbes about the decision's aftermath.
Dijak's best work happened under Triple H's NXT, and many wonder whether the superstar felt betrayed by The Game, who currently leads the creative team on the main roster. Dijak said that while he wouldn't term it as a betrayal, he was quite annoyed over not getting an explanation about why the company chose to not renew his deal. The former RAW star explained:
"I don't know that I'd say betrayed is the word that I would use. And a lot of this has to be taken with a grain of salt because the bottom line is, I don't know. I never got an explanation, which, for the record, that's not cool. I wanted an explanation, so I asked lots of people for one. I did not get one."
The Stamford-based promotion has changed drastically since the Endeavor merger, and Dijak realized that other powerful individuals might have made the calls to release talents. The former NXT star admitted that because of the complicated corporate structure of the WWE, he just couldn't blame Triple H or another person for the abrupt end of his tenure.
"That being said, somebody had to be involved in the decision-making process. If it wasn't him, fine. If Endeavor said, 'Nope, you got to get rid of five guys...' I don't know the situation. I don't know. So I can't in all good conscious sit back and point the finger at any one person because I was given no explanation." [H/T: Forbes]
Dijak is disappointed about how WWE handled his exit
The seasoned pro wrestler was aware of the changes in WWE and how they didn't owe him anything, as it might have purely been a business decision. However, Dijak had been with the company long enough to deserve a proper explanation for their decision to let him go.
Sadly for the 6-foot-7-inch star, company officials allegedly never told him why they were choosing not to extend his contract.
"Again, it's a business. They don't owe me anything. They're not legally obligated to tell me anything. That being said, I felt like my tenure and my performance in WWE, at a bare minimum, I think that warranted some sort of explanation as to what was happening. I never got one. And that's disappointing," he said. [H/T: Forbes]
Dijak has already returned to the ring following his WWE departure and, from the looks of it, is becoming one of the most wanted acts on the independent circuit.
