37-year-old star's WWE career went downhill because he "didn't fall in line," says Vince Russo (Exclusive)

Making it to the WWE is one thing, but having a successful tenure over a lengthy period doesn't happen for every talent. Unfortunately for some, like Enzo Amore, having a wrong impression on the officials can be one's downfall, according to Vince Russo.

WWE is under different management now, but there have been various instances during Vince McMahon's regime where many stars just fell out of favor with the head honcho and his team for multiple reasons.

Alongside Big Cass, Enzo Amore was a popular star who enjoyed singles success later on in his run. Despite being fired from the WWE in 2018 reportedly owing to a sexual assault allegation that was later dropped, there were always reports about Enzo Amore's attitude and how he might have rubbed many the wrong way backstage.

Vince Russo noted on this week's episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW that all it took for a superstar to lose their push was for them to annoy one high-ranking official. Russo brought up Amore's example and noted that despite the 37-year-old star possessing immense talent, his WWE career didn't reach the desired heights as he might not have blindly accepted everything the bosses told him.

"I mean, look at a guy like Enzo. With all the freaking talent that guy had, he stood out on that show, but he didn't fall in line. And what happened in Enzo's career? Just because he didn't fall in line." [37:50 - 38:14]

Amore won the cruiserweight championship twice, but more than his in-ring skills, the former NXT star was known for his charisma and effortless work on the microphone.

While he also focuses on his music career, Enzo still wrestles and, with time on his side, remains an attractive option for most big-money promotions around the world.
