37-year-old wrestler legitimately knocked out after match starts; doctors rush her to the back after she's unresponsive
A wrestler was completely knocked out almost immediately after her match started. The star suffered a sudden injury and had to be taken the to back by the doctors.
Alisha Edwards was part of the six-woman tag team match at TNA Emergence, where an unfortunate accident took place. She teamed with Ash by Elegance and Malisha to face Jordynne Grace, Jody Threat, and Dani Luna. Unfortunately, things went very wrong in the bout. Grace threw Luna and Threat onto the three heels at ringside before starting to prepare a dive.
When no one got up for her to dive onto, she went out to check. It was then that it became obvious something was wrong, as she could not pick up a non-responsive Edwards. The rest of the stars moved to the other side of the ring after signalling to the doctors, who immediately rushed to check on Edwards. She didn't get up even after everyone else did. Edwards' condition has everyone worried after she could not stand up.
Doctors checked the wrestler out and subsequently, Tommy Dreamer made his way out to the ringside area as well, helping the doctors to rush her to the back after she continued to not respond.
Now, Jordynne Grace has issued a statement about the matter as well, saying they all love Edwards and such accidents can happen on live shows.
"When we have live events, streaming in front of thousands of people, you want everything to go perfect. Sometimes that doesn’t happen, and it’s no one’s fault. Freak accidents happen. We love you so f***ing much @MrsAIPAlisha."
At this time, what exactly happened to Alisha Edwards is unclear, and further updates are awaited.
Sportskeeda wishes the wrestler a swift recovery.
