38-year-old former WWE Champion will never wrestle again due to career-ending injury, says Jonathan Coachman

Wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman recently addressed the future of a former WWE Champion. The Coach claimed the current superstar would never compete again inside the squared circle.

The wrestler in question is none other than Big E. The 38-year-old suffered a broken neck during a spot with Ridge Holland on SmackDown in March 2022. He has since been absent from in-ring competition. Nevertheless, The New Day member has played other roles in the Stamford-based company, including being a panelist.

Earlier this year, the former WWE Champion gave an update on his condition on Twitter (X), stating that he was still not medically cleared to wrestle and might never be.

While some fans are still optimistic about potentially seeing Big E in the ring again, Jonathan Coachman and his Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word co-host, Tommy Carlucci, predicted that it would never happen.

"Tommy, he's [Big E] never wrestling again, '' Coachman said. ''No, no way," Carlucci replied. "He's never wrestling again. I know he wants to. I would never allow him to because he would take one bad, just a simple chokeslam or a bodyslam for him to be paralyzed forever," The Coach added. [39:07-39:23]

Big E reacts to Odyssey Jones helping The New Day on WWE RAW

Last night on RAW, The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) defeated The Authors of Pain in a tag team match. During the match, Odyssey Jones finally debuted on the red brand and helped Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods pick up the victory.

As he impressively destroyed The Final Testament, Big E took to Twitter (X) to praise the 30-year-old WWE Superstar, claiming that Jones made a lot of new fans on RAW.

"The big man looked phenomenal!!! A star is born! Odyssey made a lot of new fans tonight!" he wrote.

With Big E out of action, it will be interesting to see if Odyssey Jones becomes the third member of The New Day on Monday Night RAW.
