39-year-old former WWE champion extends support to Xavier Woods against faction

The WWE Universe is witnessing one of the most joyful stables in the company’s history, The New Day, go through a harsh struggle. With Big E almost permanently out of pro wrestling due to an injury, the faction is already short-handed. At such a time, they are being targeted and attacked by a rival faction every week. Interestingly, a former WWE champion has come forward to lend a helping hand to them.

Former United States Champion Baron Corbin reached out to Xavier Woods on X/Twitter when The New Day member talked about his Final Testament problem. Woods spoke about a disadvantageous numbers game situation, to which the 39-year-old star sent an enthusiastic reply.

“Yo!”

The July 1, 2024, episode of RAW saw The New Day’s Xavier Woods getting a much-needed win against Karrion Kross. Notably, however, this did not mean the end of things as The Final Testament leader viciously attacked Kofi Kingston.

On the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, Michael Cole revealed that Kingston got injured as a result and will be out due to an AC joint sprain. However, Xavier Woods will seemingly have the support of Baron Corbin now. Thus, he will have a better chance of surviving the faction warfare.

Former WWE name predicts that The New Day will split

WWE’s The Bump’s former host Matt Camp recently spoke about The New Day and gave his take on the faction. While speaking on The Wrestling Matt podcast, he discussed the clash between The Final Testament and The New Day. He opened up about a potential storyline that was in the bag of ideas of WWE management for Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

“When [Xavier] Woods was King of the Ring, there was a discussion of turning him and Kofi [Kingston] heel. I don't know how far it went, but there were conversations about that. And I think Woods would be a tremendous heel. Once again, [they're] not breaking up The New Day," Matt Camp said. [17:20 - 17:40]

It would be interesting to see what plans the creative team have for The New Day in the coming days on Monday Night RAW.
