39-year-old RAW star was supposed to win Money in the Bank briefcase, not Drew McIntyre (Exclusive)

Drew McIntyre won the Money in the Bank briefcase this year but failed to cash in as CM Punk cost him, culminating in the epic trilogy that we saw between August and September. A new report has emerged stating that a 39-year-old RAW star was going to win the briefcase and not The Scottish Warrior.

On WrestleVotes Radio exclusively on Backstage Pass, JoeyVotes and TC said that whoever won the Men's Money in the Bank briefcase in 2024 would have failed their cash-in. It seemed to be a case where the men's winner was not going to win either world championship, so the next best idea was using it to fuel a storyline. As it turned out, McIntyre's failed cash-in was used as a driving force for his incredible storyline against CM Punk.

JoeyVotes and TC said that the 39-year-old superstar, Jey Uso, was originally slated to win the MITB briefcase this year, and the plan was for The Bloodline to cost him the cash-in, similar to how they cost him the Intercontinental Championship on the October 21 episode of RAW.

What is Drew McIntyre's status for Crown Jewel 2024?

The two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is taking a well-deserved break after his epic Hell in a Cell clash against CM Punk at Bad Blood. The match was praised as being one of the greatest matches inside Hell in a Cell, and McIntyre's stock seemed to be up despite his loss. But what is his status for Crown Jewel?

According to PWInsider, The Scottish Warrior, Drew McIntyre, is not set to be a part of the upcoming Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. This might be a huge blow for fans, but from WWE's perspective, they've booked a card strong enough that his presence wouldn't be needed.

Interestingly, his rival CM Punk could be back sooner, as it was reported on a previous episode of WrestleVotes Radio that he is penciled in for Survivor Series 2024 in Vancouver.
