39-year-old WWE star crashes huge backstage interview to demand a revenge match against Bobby Lashley's faction

Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits marked the season premiere of WWE SmackDown with a vicious attack on Carlito, leaving LWO's Santos Escobar desperate for revenge.

Carlito recently returned on Fastlane and was revealed as Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar's surprise partner in their six-man tag team match against Bobby Lashley, Montez Ford, and Angelo Dawkins. Carlito helped his team pick up the win on Fastlane, and The All Mighty came looking for his revenge on SmackDown.

The Street Profits attacked Carliito during his backstage interview, leaving LWO members furious. A frustrated Escobar then crashed the newly appointed SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis's official interview to demand a match next week. He said he doesn't care about who he will face but needed a match to be booked for SmackDown next week. Escobar was quoted as follows:

"Nick, I know this is your first time on the job. Welcome to SmackDown. I don't know if you are aware, but Carlito was attacked earlier by Bobby Lashley, Montez Ford, and Angelo Dawkins. Are you aware of that? That's not going to fly with LWO or Santos Escobar. I don't care who it is: Bobby Lashley, Montez Ford, or Angelo Dawkins. Someone is going to pay, I want a match, and you are the man that's going to make it happen." [From 02:50 to 03:25]

Aldis agreed with Escobar and granted him his match on next week's WWE SmackDown. The latter is now set to face Montez Ford in a singles match on the blue brand, where Bobby Lashley and Angelo Dawkins may also make their presence known.

The abovementioned interview also saw Nick Aldis reveal why WWE split Kevin Owens from Sami Zayn. The SmackDown GM stated that while he found KO's run alongside Sami Zayn incredible, he believed it was the right time for Owens to return to singles competition.

Nick Aldis also shared that Jey Uso's move to RAW required him to bring someone equally talented. He argued that the SmackDown audience would have wanted someone of the same caliber or better, which motivated him to pick Kevin Owens.
