4-time champion could win the Money in the Bank contract this year, according to WWE analyst
According to a WWE analyst, a four-time champion could be on his way to winning the Money in the Bank briefcase this year. Sam Roberts' pick is new to the main roster and has not scratched the surface of his potential yet.
Four superstars have already earned their spot in the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match – Jey Uso, Carmelo Hayes, Chad Gable, and Andrade. There are two spots left and they will be determined by two triple-threat qualifying matches – LA Knight vs. Logan Paul vs. Santos Escobar on SmackDown and Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus vs. Ilja Dragunov on RAW.
On the latest episode of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts picked Hayes as his dark horse to win the MITB briefcase. He explained that the former NXT Champion picked up momentum after pinning Randy Orton, while his showdown with Cody Rhodes on his first night as a SmackDown Superstar stands out.
"Not only does Carmelo Hayes win but he pinned Randy Orton. I mean Carmelo Hayes hasn't been a part of like any huge stories yet, but night one coming out and getting the main event match with Cody Rhodes. And now a couple months later, getting a pin over Randy Orton and he's going to get to be in the Money in the Bank match. Carmelo Hayes is one of those names that I would not be surprised to see him win," Roberts said. [From 01:34:04 to 01:34:35]

Carmelo Hayes has had a lot of success in NXT. He is a two-time NXT North American Champion, a former NXT Champion, and was the final NXT Cruiserweight Champion. He spent around three years on developmental before getting called up to the main roster.
The WWE Money in the Bank 2024 match card
As is tradition, in addition to the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match, a Women's ladder match will also take place this year at the PLE. IYO SKY, Chelsea Green, and Lyra Valkyria have already qualified for their MITB ladder match. There are three more qualifying matches set to fill in the remaining spots.
- Jade Cargill vs. Candice LeRae vs. Tiffany Stratton on the June 28 episode of SmackDown.
- Blair Davenport vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Naomi on the June 28 episode of SmackDown.
- Dakota Kai vs. Ivy Nile vs. Zoey Stark on the July 1 episode of RAW.
There are also two title matches announced so far: Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship and Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. Priest and Rollins increased their stakes in the match by adding a stipulation.
If Priest retains his championship, Rollins will never get another World Heavyweight Championship shot as long as the former is the champ. But if Rollins wins, Priest will leave The Judgment Day for good.
The expected main event of the MITB PLE is a six-man tag team match between The new Bloodline vs. Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens.
