4-time WWE Champion teases showdown with Gunther potentially at WrestleMania 41

Gunther's reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion has only begun, and The Ring General is slowly getting surrounded by challengers. Recently, Bron Breakker commented on a potential showdown against the champion at WrestleMania in Las Vegas.

SummerSlam was a crowning event for a few stars. Gunther and Bron Breakker won the prestigious World Heavyweight and Intercontinental Titles, respectively, and entered a new era on Monday Night RAW. The Ring General's reign is going strong, but the same cannot be said for Breakker.

In an interview on 99.5 WKDQ, the two-time NXT, one-time NXT Tag, and former Intercontinental Champion stated he would be down to face Gunther for the World Title in Las Vegas. However, he also put forth another scenario where he would already be the champion walking into the show. The Dog of WWE also stated that he would like to win the Royal Rumble match.

"[You and Gunther at next year's WrestleMania] That sounds good to me. Who knows what will happen between now and then? I could be a champion during the Royal Rumble. Someone else could qualify and would want to face me at WrestleMania. So there's no telling what's going to happen between now and then. I would love to win the Rumble," Breakker said. Bron Breakker previously defeated Gunther on WWE NXT

A few years ago, Gunther and Bron Breakker worked on the developmental brand at the same time. While the second-generation star was the NXT Champion, Gunther received a name change when he started working in the United States.

The two had a one-on-one match in the show's main event, and Breakker scored a clean win over The Ring General. This was Gunther's last match for the brand, as he received his main roster call-up under the old WWE regime.

The career trajectory of both stars has drastically changed in the past few years. Earlier this year, Gunther's reign as the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion ended, however, he became the World Heavyweight Champion at WWE SummerSlam 2024.

Meanwhile, Bron Breakker recently lost the Intercontinental Championship to Jey Uso on WWE RAW. It'll be interesting to see if the two stars cross paths in the near future for the World Heavyweight Championship.
