4-time WWE Champion will return from hiatus a bigger babyface than Cody Rhodes, says ex-host
Cody Rhodes is currently considered the top babyface in WWE. However, a former host at the Stamford-based promotion believes another top superstar will return to claim that spot from The American Nightmare.
Roman Reigns has been absent from television since his loss to Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. Nevertheless, many expect the 39-year-old to return at SummerSlam to confront his cousin, Solo Sikoa after the latter led a coup and took over The Bloodline. Former RAW Talk host, Matt Camp now thinks the four-time WWE Champion's return would affect The American Nightmare's status in the company.
Speaking on his The Wrestling Matt podcast, the former RAW Talk host claimed The Head of the Table could be a bigger babyface than Rhodes upon his comeback. He said if that was the case it would make for a very interesting time in the Stamford-based company where two huge baby faces operated at the same time, not something that had happened often before.
"Cody's gonna be over no matter what. But I'm so intrigued to see how things shake out when Roman is back because I think Roman can be a bigger babyface than Cody, which is, by the way, is an unbelievable thing for WWE to have. To have ready-to-go, now is the time Roman Reigns massive babyface run and to have Cody on the run that he's still on that is still very hot, to have both of those things at the same time, that has only happened a handful of times in history," he said. Will Roman Reigns return at WWE SummerSlam?
Solo Sikoa will square off against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship next Saturday at SummerSlam. Ahead of his anticipated clash with The American Nightmare, the self-appointed new Tribal Chief sent a message to Roman Reigns, telling him that he knows where to find him if he has a problem with him becoming the champion.
Wrestling veteran, Matt Morgan predicted how the 39-year-old could return to confront his former Enforcer at The Biggest Party of the Summer. He pointed out that it could happen after Rhodes defeats his 31-year-old challenger.
"I think the match has to happen. It has to be over. Cody wins, beats Solo, and then they start beating Cody up after the match, then Roman's music hits maybe. Do the stare down thing," he said.
With Solo Sikoa continuing to take shots at Roman Reigns in his promos on SmackDown, it would be interesting to see if The Head of the Table would indeed show up at SummerSlam to get back at his cousin.
