40-year-old WWE star gets emotional discussing The Wyatt Sicks' debut
The landscape of WWE has been topsy-turvy following the spine-chilling arrival of The Wyatt Sicks on Monday Night RAW. One superstar who was closely related to the late Bray Wyatt was Braun Strowman and now he has opened up about the debut of the faction.
On the June 17 edition of RAW, Uncle Howdy appeared with Nikki Cross, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy, and Erick Rowan laying waste to everything in sight backstage. Many fans assumed Strowman was one of the victims of The Wyatt Sicks alongside Chad Gable, but the 40-year-old confirmed he had left the building chasing The Judgment Day out before mayhem took place.
The late Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt's real name) and The Monster Among Men were a part of the former Wyatt Family stable a few years ago. During a chat with Steve Fall on Ten Count Media, Braun Strowman mentioned he got overwhelmed to see Taylor Rotunda (Bo Dallas, the person presumably playing Uncle Howdy) carrying his late brother's legacy in WWE.
"It definitely invoked some emotions that I haven't felt in a long time, some good, some not so good. It's awesome to see them [The Wyatt Sicks] back as terrifying as it is. There's a special place in my heart, I went through a lot in the past with the former leader [Bray Wyatt] of that group and we [The Wyatt Family] weren't always the best people," he said.
The former Universal Champion also noted that even though he escaped The Wyatt Sicks' assault the last time, he wishes not to cross paths with the sinister faction. Strowman added:
"Hope I don't have to cross paths with them too much, [they're] pretty scary, I ain't going to lie. I remember when I was a part of it, I don't remember it being that dark." [1:29 - 2:22]
What did The Wyatt Sicks do on the latest edition of WWE RAW?
After Chad Gable picked a big win over Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman, Nikki Cross of the Wyatt Sicks faction appeared out of nowhere and delivered a package to WWE RAW announcer Michael Cole.
The package consisted of a VHS tape featuring Bo Dallas being interviewed by his alter ego, Uncle Howdy. The 34-year-old felt that life had no meaning after his brother Windham passed away. This segment was heavily praised by veterans such as Matt Hardy and Bully Ray.
The WWE Universe will have to wait and see if The Wyatt Sicks will cross paths with Braun Strowman down the line.
