44-year-old ex-WWE Champion returning to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 may happen, says veteran (Exclusive)
Cody Rhodes' WrestleMania 41 opponent is still in the air, with no clear direction in sight for the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell believes that Triple H and Co. could book The American Nightmare against Randy Orton.
The Legend Killer is currently on the sidelines after being taken out by Kevin Owens. KO is also slated to face Cody Rhodes for the title at Saturday Night's Main Event.
With Rhodes' WrestleMania 41 path yet to take a concrete direction, Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk host SP3 suggested that KO could attack the American Nightmare after their match this weekend to keep the rivalry going till Royal Rumble. Randy Orton, 44, may then make his return to win the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber and face Rhodes at the Showcase of the Immortals next year.
Dutch Mantell agreed with SP3, noting that he can see it happen:
"I swear you lay that off of the top of your head [Randy being Cody’s opponent at WrestleMania 41], but they can make that work." [From 54:35 onwards]
There were also speculations of Cody Rhodes facing The Rock at WWE's biggest wrestling event next year. However, some reports have stated that The Final Boss may not compete at WrestleMania 41.
