47-year-old megastar to win the Money in the Bank contract and dethrone Cody Rhodes, predicts former WWE star

A former WWE star has discussed the possibility of a veteran performer winning the 2024 Men's Money in the Bank match and going on to dethrone Cody Rhodes. Aiden English (aka Matthew Rehwoldt) has pitched the idea of AJ Styles climbing up the ladder and bringing down the briefcase at the upcoming premium live event in Canada.

While fans are gearing up for Clash at the Castle this weekend, Money In the Bank, too, is not far away, as it's scheduled to go down on July 6th. One of the marquee offerings at the Glasgow event would see Cody Rhodes defend his Undisputed WWE Title against AJ Styles in an I Quit match.

While it remains to be seen if Styles succeeds in winning the gold this time, Aiden English is of the belief that he and Rhodes might not be done with each other so soon. On the Rebooked podcast, English stated that he could see The Phenomenal One and The American Nightmare continue their feud well until the next year. He also stated that there was a chance that Styles would win the MITB briefcase amid this.

"I would not mind at all these two [AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes] kind of orbiting each other for the next year or so. Maybe it builds to next year's WrestleMania. It doesn't have to be a consistent nine-month feud, that would get really dull. But, yeah, they do this, something happens, [Styles] wins the Money in the Bank and now that's hanging over it. Maybe they clash at Hell in a Cell or Survivor Series but then they go away and then at Rumble time it picks back up," said Aiden English.

English explained that since AJ Styles was nearing his retirement, WWE might put the Undisputed Title on him down the line to give him a memorable send-off.

"An oscillating story like that could be interesting. AJ Styles has talked a lot about legitimately retiring sometime in the next couple of years, whether that's one or five, we don't know. But he's not going another 15 years, we know that. So I think they want to let him run and he's been killing it lately. So I think in the near future, we should see that," added Aiden English. Vince Russo is not pleased with Cody Rhodes' current direction in WWE

Though fans seem to be enjoying Rhodes' heated feud with Styles, Vince Russo thinks otherwise. On Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo, he mentioned that the company didn't have anything good for him. Russo noted that while Cody Rhodes himself was doing a competent job, it was the creative direction that was to blame.

"He has nothing to say. And again bro, it's not, let me clarufy that. It's not that Cody has nothing to say. They (creative) have nothing for him."

Regardless of who comes on top this weekend, fans can expect another classic between AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes that could even possibly surpass their electrifying clash from Backlash 2024.
