48-year-old former champion reveals if he would return to WWE

A 10-time champion has commented on being released by the company and if he would ever return to WWE. The promotion released a ton of talent following the merger with Endeavor last September.

One of the most notable names to be let go last year was Shelton Benjamin. The 48-year-old has had two successful stints with WWE but was part of the wave of releases last September. He was rumored to be in talks with AEW, but The Acclaimed's Max Caster publicly claimed that the locker room didn't want him.

Speaking with Daily Star, Shelton Benjamin made it known that he would be willing to return to the company if he ever got the call:

“I think I’d be a fool not to look at the opportunity again if they ask me to come back. I would definitely go back. I think you’d be a fool not to; they’re the biggest company in the world. You get the most exposure, you can really build your own personal brand there. WWE is a marketing machine. Most people think of WWE as a wrestling company; I think of it as a marketing company. If you get a chance to go there, I say to anyone: go. If you’ve been there and came back, go back," he said.

Benjamin added that he's not trying to go back to the promotion, but would absolutely consider it if the opportunity came to be:

"Am I trying to go back? No. I take it day by day and deal with what I have to deal with. But if the opportunity came, of course I would definitely consider going back," he added [H/T: Ringside News]
