5-time WWE champion is "incredible," says veteran, BUT doesn't have "star power"

Wrestling veteran Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English in WWE) recently shared his prediction for Saturday Night's Main Event. While discussing the upcoming NBC special show, he claimed that a five-time Women's Champion is incredibly talented but lacks significant drawing power.

IYO SKY is set to face Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship this Saturday, December 14, 2024, at SNME. A few weeks ago on Monday Night RAW, the Damage CTRL member won the #1 Contenders Battle Royal to earn a shot at The Judgment Day star's title.

Speaking on the REBOOKED Wrestling podcast, Matthew Rehwoldt commented on the upcoming Women's World Championship match at Saturday Night's Main Event. While acknowledging IYO SKY's in-ring talent, the ex-WWE star expressed concerns about her star power and drawing potential.

"I think it's a good match. [sic] She [IYO SKY] is incredible; she does not have that star power. She does not have the draw power," Rehwoldt said. [From 01:09:35 to 01:09:44]

Matthew Rehwoldt says maybe WWE can groom IYO SKY

On the December 9, 2024, installment of the red brand, a feud between IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley was teased. The Nightmare and Miss WarGames had an intense staredown while holding the Women's World Title before the Monday Night Show concluded.

During the same interaction on the REBOOKED Wrestling podcast, Aiden English suggested that the company may be investing more in The Genius of the SKY to elevate her to a higher level of stardom.

"Maybe they [WWE] can groom her there [to the star power status]. They seem to be putting more into her, she is not there," he added. [From 01:09:48 to 01:09:54]

Only time will tell if the Damage CTRL member potentially captures the Women's World Championship from Liv Morgan this weekend.
