50-year-old former WWE champion officially departs the company
The last few weeks have been full of rumors regarding MVP's WWE status after his contract had reportedly expired. However, it seems that the Stamford-based company has finally addressed his future.
WWE's official website has moved the 50-year-old and Bobby Lashley to the alumni section. This is a clear indication of both superstars having left the company. Although there has been no official announcement yet, this could be the closest thing to one that the promotion could make regarding their departure, despite Lashley being a former world champion and MVP a former United States Champion.
There have also been rumors that the two veterans could reunite with Shelton Benjamin to form their own 'Hurt Business' on the Independent circuit. The only member of the group who remains in WWE is Cedric Alexander, who hasn't been featured on the main roster for several months.
It will be interesting to see if there is a way for 'The Hurt Business' to reform since all four men have pushed for the chance to work together again. It could be good for fans to see what they could do when in charge of their own narrative.
MVP claimed he's not ready to retire following WWE exit
MVP had recently claimed that he was not ready to retire, despite turning 50 years old last year. It would appear that he would be only too happy to lace up his wrestling boots once again on the independent circuit.
There are also several promotions including AEW, NJPW, TNA, and even Ring of Honor who could offer MVP a lucrative deal or even allow The Hurt Business to reunite as part of their roster outside of the Stamford-based company.
It appears that both Bobby Lashley and MVP are getting themselves into shape for another run following their exit from the Stamford-based promotion, and neither men seem disheartened with their exit.
