6' 2" major superstar can end Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship reign soon, says legend
Cody Rhodes recently surpassed 150 days as the Undisputed WWE Champion. However, a WWE Hall of Famer has not ruled out the possibility of The American Nightmare dropping the title to a top SmackDown Superstar.
The superstar in question is none other than Solo Sikoa. The self-proclaimed Tribal Chief locked horns with The American Nightmare for the title at SummerSlam. Nevertheless, he failed to capture it after interference from Roman Reigns. The six-foot-two-inch star will battle Rhodes in a Steel Cage Match on SmackDown this Friday.
Meanwhile, Booker T was recently asked whether Sikoa could end Rhodes' title reign on the blue brand on the latest edition of the Hall of Fame podcast. The 59-year-old pointed out that the company thought highly of the former NXT North American Champion.
"I don't know. I mean, Cody's on a hell of a run. I think Cody's run is gonna end when it's time. I don't know if it's time right now from a storytelling perspective. I don't like booking the show or anything like that. I was reading that Solo is definitely a guy that's highly touted to move up the ladder and do some big things in the WWE. I was reading about Jacob same thing, man. He's highly touted, and they can do some big things with this kid," he said.
Although the WWE legend stated that he does not like to book the show, Booker T did not rule out the possibility of Sikoa winning the title on SmackDown, especially with The Bloodline helping him:
"I don't know if they're gonna put the title on him, put the rocket on him, send him straight to... I don't know. I hate trying to book the show. But can he do it? Of course, he can do it. I mean, with The Bloodline flanking him, I think anything's possible," he said. [53:15-54:08]
Cody Rhodes claims he will acknowledge Solo Sikoa if the latter beats him on WWE SmackDown
After his confrontation with Solo Sikoa last Friday, Cody Rhodes claimed in an interview with Byron Saxton on SmackDown Lowdown that he had the advantage in the upcoming Steel Cage Match because of his experience in the gimmick match, unlike The Street Champ.
Meanwhile, The American Nightmare stated that he would acknowledge Solo as his Tribal Chief if the latter managed to beat him in the upcoming match.
"I'd be a fool to say I was not concerned. I'd be a fool to say I didn't have a little trepidation, a little fear about it. But I have been in many a Steel Cage, and Solo Sikoa has never been in one. We said it out there: the Ula Fala: The Bloodline revolves around that thing. Well, the WWE revolves around this—the Undisputed WWE Championship. If Solo Sikoa is Tribal Chief enough to defeat me, however, he does it, I'll stand in that ring in front of God, in front of the whole world, and I'll acknowledge him," he said.
While many expect Rhodes to have a long title reign, it will be surprising if he drops the championship to Sikoa on the upcoming episode of SmackDown.
