6 ft 1 in soon-to-be free agent will sign with WWE, according to WCW veteran Disco Inferno

WCW veteran Disco Inferno is confident that a soon-to-be free agent will choose WWE over AEW as his next potential landing spot. The star in question is Will Ospreay.

The Aerial Assassin, currently signed with NJPW, is hailed by many as one of the most technically sound wrestlers today. His stellar performances against bigwigs like Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho recently have helped put his thriving career on the map.

Recent reports have suggested that Will Ospreay is planning to ignite a bidding war among top promotions for his services next year.

On the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Disco Inferno said that the British star would likely jump ship to WWE because he was exactly what Triple H was looking for to build the Stamford-based company around:

"I think he's [Will Ospreay] gonna sign with WWE because all the [sic] sudden I read a report [where] he said that's on the table now. I don't know why he wouldn't. He is like the prototype guy that they're looking for. He's still relatively young. He's very athletic. He probably wants to tone his style down, [but] he can still go. All of his work is solid, and he's a good-looking guy."

Inferno went on to explain why Ospreay shouldn't sign with All Elite Wrestling or any other promotion except for WWE at this point of his career:

"He looks like a million bucks, and he's a perfect size to wrestle with every person on the roster (...) I don't know why he would want to go anywhere but WWE. I mean, I know he's got connections to NJPW and AEW, but it's like you've already did [sic] that stuff. It's time to take the next step and see where you are because your work is really good and see where you gonna go down in history. You have to go to WWE to do that." [2:32 - 5:12]

Will Ospreay is open to the idea of joining WWE

Triple H and Co. are reportedly "very, very interested" in hiring Will Ospreay once he hits free agency.

In an interview with Metro, The Aerial Assassin weighed in on the possibility of signing with the global sports entertainment juggernaut:

"I mean, we have spoken about it [potent move to WWE] more. I’m now open to the idea of stretching myself out that little bit more. As age has become more apparent to me and my body is hurting more and more, I’m open to all avenues. I’ve had a lot of talks with my friends about this, and I have spoken to the missus. Although we’ve spent so much money on our new kitchen, we are open to the idea of relocating to the United States. It’s on the table, that’s all I can really say. That means I am open to all options going forward."

Ospreay recently spoke highly of IMPACT Wrestling, which is reverting to TNA next year. It has led to some speculation that he could be one of their biggest signings of 2024.
