63-year-old WWE veteran says he's "not happy" Rhea Ripley suffered another injury

WWE veteran Jim Cornette recently shared his thoughts on Rhea Ripley’s injury. The 63-year-old is a major fan of the RAW Superstar and expressed disappointment over her situation.

The Eradicator was attacked in the parking lot by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on NXT last week. She was battered with a baseball bat which caused her to suffer a fractured right orbital socket. She is expected to be out of action for the foreseeable future due to the attack.

While speaking on the latest edition of his Jim Cornette Drive-Thru podcast, WWE veteran Jim Cornette reacted to the news that Mami actually got injured when she headbutted Liv Morgan or Raquel Rodriguez. He said he was not happy that this happened to her.

"Apparently, the story is that she has broken her orbital socket by giving one of those freestanding headbutts to either Liv Morgan or Raquel Rodriguez. She drove her own face into somebody and broke her own orbital socket. And what the f**k? Can we just have a moment's peace without the best female wrestler in the business getting hurt all the time doing sh*t to herself? Nobody else can hurt her, but she's beating the sh*t out of her own self... So, she ran her own face into somebody and broke her own eye. I'm not happy," Jim Cornette said. [0:54 - 3:24]

Liv Morgan admitted that she deliberately injured Rhea Ripley on WWE NXT

Women's World Champion Liv Morgan defended her title against Nia Jax at Crown Jewel 2024, and Rhea Ripley was not there to interfere and cost her the match. The 30-year-old star won the bout and left the ring with two belts and a ring in her possession.

Morgan admitted at the Crown Jewel Kickoff Show that she planned to put Ripley on the shelf when she attacked her on NXT:

"Oh, Rhea? Let me tell you something about Rhea," Liv Morgan responded to the chants. "I made sure that Rhea is going to be gone for a very, very, very long time!"

On RAW this week, IYO SKY was confirmed as Morgan's next challenger for the Women's World Championship. The Genius of the Sky earned the right to challenge for the title after winning a Battle Royal on the latest episode of the red brand.
