6ft superstar returning to WWE after 8 months to get involved in ongoing feud wasn't needed, says Vince Russo (Exclusive)
WWE Bad Blood 2024 was filled with shocking turns and moments, with three big names making their returns. However, wrestling veteran Vince Russo is not impressed with the direction of Raquel Rodriguez upon her return.
Raquel returned to WWE programming at Bad Blood 2024 after being out of action for nearly eight months. The former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion attacked Rhea Ripley from behind while the latter was beating up Dominik Mysterio. This led to the Women's World Championship match between Mami and Liv Morgan ending in DQ. Raquel also made a brief appearance on RAW where she seemed to be working as Morgan's enforcer.
While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW podcast, Vince Russo stressed that Liv Morgan does not need Raquel Rodriguez as she already has heat with fans. The former WWE head writer added that the only reason the 6-foot star was added to the storyline was because the Stamford-based company did not have any other way of ending the title match at Bad Blood 2024.
"First of all, bro, Liv Morgan has heat. She doesn’t need Raquel Rodriguez. The only reason they used her, bro, was because they didn’t know how to get out of the match. They wanted Liv to go over and they didn’t wanna hurt Rhea Ripley, so now we are gonna involve Raquel Rodriguez, who they do not need," Vince Russo said. [51:00 - 51:26]
