7-time world champion asking for "Randy Orton kind of money" to stay in WWE is possible, according to ex-writer

A seven-time world champion's WWE contract recently expired. A former WWE writer now thinks that superstar could ask for a salary as high as Randy Orton's to sign a new deal.

The person in question is none other than Becky Lynch. The Man dropped the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring. She wrestled Morgan in her final match before her contract expired on Monday Night RAW. However, the 37-year-old suffered another defeat. While she has reportedly not yet signed a new deal with the Stamford-based company, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. believes she could demand a much higher salary to sign a new contract.

On his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Prinze Jr. stated that the former Women's World Champion could ask for anything she wants, including a contract as high as Randy Orton's:

"I legit think she could ask for the moon. I think she could ask for like the Randy Orton kind of money, that top-shelf money," he said. [5:57 - 6:03]

The Ex-WWE writer thinks Tony Khan will make a huge offer to Becky Lynch

Over the past few years, Tony Khan has signed several former WWE Superstars to AEW. One of these names is Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) who reportedly became one of the highest-paid female competitors in the wrestling industry.

On a previous episode of his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Freddie Prinze Jr. claimed Khan could offer Becky Lynch double Mone's salary to sign with his promotion:

"I think she has so many years left (...) I think Lynch has 10 years of stories so it's strange that she's a free agent. It's very strange. I'll say this, Tony Khan is gonna make a huge offer to her. Whatever he offered Mercedes Mone, it's gonna be double that," he said. [H/T: WrestlingInc.]

While Becky Lynch is expected to take time off to spend time with her husband, Seth Rollins, it will be interesting to see what her next move is and whether she signs a new deal with the Stamford-based company.
