7-time WWE Women's Champion hints at not being done with wrestling despite having a "retirement" match 18 years ago
A WWE Hall of Famer and seven-time Women's World Champion recently teased that retirement from wrestling may still be a long way off. The name in question is Trish Stratus who officially had her "retirement" match over 18 years ago.
At the 2006 Unforgiven Pay-Per-View, Trish Stratus squared off against Lita in her hometown for the coveted Women's Championship. In a climactic showdown, the Canadian wrestling icon emerged victorious, capturing the title for the seventh time in her illustrious career.
This historic win marked a fitting end to her legendary tenure with the Stamford-based promotion as she bid farewell to the ring. While her retirement seemed imminent, Trish Stratus surprised fans by returning to the ring for several matches, with the latest being a thrilling showdown against Becky Lynch at the 2023 Payback Premium Live Event.
In a recent Instagram post, the USA Network reminisced about Trish Stratus' legendary 'retirement' match against Lita. The seven-time WWE Women's Champion responded with a playful GIF on her Stories, playfully suggesting that 'retirement' is a word she's not quite ready to embrace.

Trish Stratus wants to face a popular WWE Superstar in a dream match
Given that the Canadian legend has playfully remarked that she's unfamiliar with the concept of retirement, there's a wealth of potential dream matches with current WWE Superstars that she could still pursue.
During the 2024 Comic-Con Northern Ireland panel, Trish Stratus expressed interest in facing Tiffany Stratton in the ring, highlighting her as a promising talent within the current women's wrestling scene.
"What time is it? Is it Tiffy Time? I mean, she’s a little bit arrogant, and I think it’d be interesting to show her what it’s all about from someone back in the day. Maybe Tiffany Stratton," she said.
