7-time WWE Women's Champion teases in-ring return after over a year
WWE legends and veterans are returning in 2025 with a goal or two in mind. Recently, seven-time Women's Champion Trish Stratus teased a return to in-ring competition.
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus had a busy year, as she was busy with projects outside wrestling. The multi-time Women's Champion has made sporadic appearances for the Stamford-based promotion but hasn't competed inside the square circle in over a year.
In an exclusive interview with Sports Illustrated, Trish Stratus was asked about several topics regarding professional wrestling. The 48-year-old star was asked about a potential return to the ring, to which she stated she's examining the landscape, and there's a lot to consider if she wanted to return for a person and a particular storyline:
"I think it's like examining the landscape and seeing what works best for everyone... There's so many parties to consider. The person that is in the storyline, the WWE. It's really collaborative," Stratus said. [H/T - SI]
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus' last match took place in 2023
In 2023, Trish Stratus shocked the world with a surprise return to professional wrestling as Becky Lynch and Lita's tag team partner for WrestleMania 39. The trio defeated the faction and started a new storyline in the coming weeks.
Later, Stratus secretly attacked Lita and turned on Lynch, and the duo lost the Women's Tag Team Championships to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. The two women spent months feuding on Monday Night RAW.
In May 2023, the Hall of Famer took Zoey Stark as her protégé and continued her feud with The Man. In September 2023, Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus had a steel cage match, which Lynch won and concluded their storyline.
However, a new storyline between Stark and Stratus was teased as Zoey Stark locked herself in the cage and hit Trish Stratus with a Z360 to close the segment, but the feud never went anywhere, and the two are yet to cross paths inside the square circle.
