A member of The New Day takes dig at Cody Rhodes following Crown Jewel

A member of The New Day recently shared a hilarious social media update to take a dig at Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare faced Gunther in the main event of the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.

Rhodes and Gunther locked horns in a highly anticipated Champion vs. Champion match. The two superstars went back and forth before the former AEW star pinned The Ring General to become the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Champion. RAW Superstar Xavier Woods, who has recently been teasing a heel turn, took a hilarious jibe at Rhodes.

Speaking before the match, Gunther claimed he would beat Cody Rhodes via submission with the sleeper hold. He tried to use the move on multiple occasions but didn't find much success. During the match, Woods took to his X (fka Twitter) account to joke about the World Heavyweight Champion using the sleeper because Rhodes was fighting jet lag.

"Gunther is smart. He put Cody in a sleeper cause he knows he's also fighting jet lag. Them eyelids are heavy as a dump truck right now," he wrote.

In a great display of respect, Cody Rhodes and Gunther shook hands inside the squared circle after the match. The two champions put forth an impressive performance to close WWE Crown Jewel. It remains to be seen what's next for the two titleholders.
