"A piece of s**t" - Kevin Owens reveals why he showed mercy on Cody Rhodes at WWE Bash in Berlin

Kevin Owens will be in action against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event later tonight. The two men previously collided for this title at the 2024 Bash in Berlin.

The American Nightmare put his world championship on the line against The Prizefighter at the Uber Arena on August 31, 2024. Rhodes suffered a storyline knee injury during several matches leading up to Bash in Berlin.

This injury was incorporated into his match against KO, where he hesitated to attack the champion while his knee was vulnerable. In the end, Cody Rhodes successfully retained his WWE title.

During an interview with The TakeDown on Sports Illustrated, Kevin Owens was seemingly asked why he showed mercy to the 39-year-old star by sparing his injured knee at the premium live event in Germany.

“I guess at that point I hadn't realized just how big a piece of s**t he [Cody Rhodes] is. I had doubts. I had seen hints of it, but now I'm just really, really well aware of it,” KO said. [H/T: Sports Illustrated]

Kevin Owens had a 7-word insult for Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown

The Prizefighter and The American Nightmare were scheduled for an interview with Michael Cole in the ring. However, KO did not show up, as he was sitting in his car in the parking lot.

During the segment, Kevin Owens repeatedly criticized the Undisputed WWE Champion, questioning the latter's betrayal of their friendship. The 40-year-old star didn't stop there, as he also roasted Cody Rhodes by declaring that he was much better as Stardust.

"You were way more interesting as Stardust," Owens said.

KO's words infuriated The American Nightmare, leading to a brawl between the two. However, The Prizefighter had the last laugh, striking Cody Rhodes with the title belt.

It remains to be seen if Kevin Owens will show mercy to the 39-year-old star during tonight's world title match at SNME.
