Absent massive WWE Superstar might be behind the backstage assault on Jade Cargill, says Sam Roberts
Jade Cargill has suffered multiple injuries following a backstage attack last Friday on WWE SmackDown. WWE analyst Sam Roberts did not rule out the possibility of an absent top superstar being behind the assault.
Cargill was a member of the babyface team heading into the Women's WarGames match at Survivor Series. She was also scheduled to compete in the Women's United States Championship tournament. However, the 32-year-old will now be out of action indefinitely after suffering deep lumbar paraspinal muscle contusions, a sprained MCL in her right knee, a bruised kidney, a tibial plateau bone bruise on her right knee, and facial lacerations.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts addressed whether Charlotte Flair could be Cargill's attacker. The Queen has been out of action since December 2023 with multiple knee injuries. The 41-year-old analyst did not rule out the possibility, pointing out that the 14-time women's champion might have the motives:
"I think that one of the questions that people are asking is, when is Charlotte Flair coming back? Because Charlotte Flair is a name that people go, 'Well, what if Charlotte Flair did this because she's been out watching Jade Cargill get all this publicity, all this hype, all this love. Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair is sitting there going, 'Pardon my French, but what am I, yesterday's tomatoes?' That's what she would say. And I go, 'No, I hope not.' Charlotte Flair is an interesting option depending on when Charlotte Flair is returning," he said. [53:29 - 54:03]
Ex-WWE employee wants Charlotte Flair to return to face Jade Cargill's partner, Bianca Belair
On the latest episode of the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci expressed his desire to see Charlotte Flair return from her long absence to fight Jade Cargill's tag team partner, Bianca Belair.
Carlucci disclosed that he believes a match between The Queen and The EST would be incredible:
"She's [Belair] none of the best women superstars we have right now. And there's a lack of them. Hopefully, Becky [Lynch] comes back or whatever is happening there. And I'd love to see Charlotte come back, man, going against Bianca that would be an incredible match," he said.
Belair and Flair's last one-on-one match took place in October 2021 on Monday Night RAW. It ended with The EST's victory via disqualification. It would be interesting to see if the two superstars would share the ring again soon.
