Absent WWE Superstar shares heartbreaking message; Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and more react
A former WWE champion recently shared a heartbreaking update on social media dedicated to the late Sarah Lee. The superstar in question is Nikki Cross.
The 35-year-old has been absent from WWE television for some time now. Her last televised in-ring appearance was on the November 6, 2023, edition of Monday Night RAW. The former RAW Women's Champion contested in the Battle Royal to determine the number one contender for Rhea Ripley's Women's World Championship at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023.
Nikki Cross recently took to Instagram to send birthday wishes to the late Sara Lee. The former Women's Money in the Bank winner posted a picture of herself with Lee, stating how much she loves and misses the former NXT star:
"My favorite photo of us. I love you and miss you, my sweet friend. Every time I see a rainbow or a sunrise or a sunset or something beautiful in the sky, I say Hi and cheers [to] our coffee cups. Our Pumpkin Spice Lattes❤️ Happy Birthday, Sara. ❤️🎉," she wrote.

For those unaware, Sara Lee was the joint winner of The Tough Enough 2015. She made her debut in January 2016 on WWE's developmental brand before getting released the same year in September. Unfortunately, the NXT star passed away on October 5, 2022, under controversial circumstances.
The Instagram update shared by Nikki Cross grabbed the attention of several WWE Superstars, including Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, and more, who dropped a like. Former Divas Champion Natalya wrote in a comment on the post.

Wrestling veteran urges WWE to release Nikki Cross
Despite winning several championships, Nikki Cross has never been involved in many significant storylines on the main roster.
Speaking on The Brand podcast, Stevie Richards talked about Cross facing the heat for voicing her displeasure against terrible booking. He further advised the wrestling promotion to release her from her contract:
"You know what's funny? They're not exclusive to doing that. Every wrestling company throughout history has done this. There's some weird thing with wrestling when you wanna participate, when you wanna earn your money, when you wanna be booked, when you wanna give them a return on the investment, somehow you get heat for that and you get punished. Just release her," he said.
Nikki Cross is reportedly set to make her return as a member of Uncle Howdy's rumored faction, Wyatt Six. The latter is expected to make an appearance later this month.
