Absent WWE Superstar seemingly teases epic return feud on RAW
A popular WWE Superstar who has been out of action due to injury recently seemingly teased going after the Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn. The name in question is The Viking Raiders' Ivar, who suffered an injury earlier this year.
The 40-year-old's last in-ring appearance was in a losing cause against Oba Femi at NXT Spring Breakin': Week Two. His last match on the main roster also resulted in a loss, as he lost a singles match to a returning Sheamus in April.
Ivar and Sami Zayn crossed paths when both were in pursuit of the Intercontinental Championship, held by Gunther at that time, and Sami won the only singles match between the two superstars. Amid his absence due to injury, The Viking Raider took to Instagram stories to share a picture of himself alongside Zayn, seemingly teasing a potential match against the current champion in the near future.
The picture was seemingly from an old backstage interaction between the two.
WWE veteran claims to be a massive Sami Zayn fan
Sami Zayn is one of the most beloved babyfaces in WWE currently. The former member of The Bloodline recently received praise from a veteran, who claimed to be his massive fan.
On a recent edition of the 83 Weeks podcast, former WWE RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff shared his honest take on Sami Zayn. The veteran noted that the latter is a highly creative in-ring performer who has a great understanding of wrestling psychology:
"I'm just a massive fan of Sami Zayn. I got to work with Sami a little bit back in 2019, and just an amazingly fun guy to work with because he's super creative; I mean, he's a very, very creative guy. I don't know if he learned it natural or if he was born with the gift, or he's worked at the gift, or a combination of the two. But he really understands psychology and how to get the most emotion out of a scene, out of a match, out of a backstage situation. I just think the world of him," he said. [H/T Wrestling Inc]
Sami Zayn is currently involved in a heated rivalry with Bron Breakker, having defeated the latter at Money in the Bank to retain his title. Former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov might have also inserted himself into the title picture, following his match against Breakker on RAW.
