Adam Pearce announces CM Punk's punishment for actions at WWE Money in the Bank

Last night's Money in the Bank Premium Live Event saw some interesting moments. None more so than when Drew McIntyre inadvertently attacked WWE RAW General Manager, Adam Pearce.

McIntyre was fuming following the interference from CM Punk that cost him the MITB cash-in. McIntyre cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Damian Priest and Seth Rollins to make the singles title bout, a Triple Threat Match, but Punk's interference saw him choke McIntyre before sending him back in the ring and hitting him with the championship belt. This interference allowed Damian Priest to pick up the pinfall victory and retain his World Heavyweight Championship.

Following the show, Adam Pearce announced that due to their actions both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre would be fined undisclosed amounts. It's unclear if this was because of the Punk's choking incident or because he interfered in a title match.

It seems that Pearce wants to step in and prevent this feud from getting out of hand after weeks of shots being taken from both sides.

CM Punk could be part of WWE RAW in Canada

Drew McIntyre isn't expected to be on WWE RAW tomorrow night, but CM Punk has a lot to answer for since he didn't just cost Drew McIntyre at Money in the Bank, but he also cost Seth Rollins.

The former World Champion was irate with Punk following the match and Corey Graves was forced to step in to prevent the two men from coming to blows. At the moment Punk is yet to be cleared to return to the ring and has only been cleared for refereeing duties currently.

Punk and McIntyre are expected to collide at WWE SummerSlam in four weeks, but ahead of the event, there could be seeds planted for a future feud between Seth Rollins and CM Punk, which was expected to take place at WrestleMania XL before Punk got injured.
