Adam Pearce announces major championship tournament on WWE RAW; first match sees major return after 13 months
Adam Pearce made a huge announcement on WWE RAW this week. The show saw the announcement of the beginning of a huge championship tournament.
For a long time now, the tag team titles of The Judgment Day have not been defended by the stars. Instead, the titles have been defended only once on TV over the last more than 100 days of their reign so far. However, Adam Pearce made it clear to Finn Balor and JD McDonagh that it was about to change, and this would no longer be the case - they would be defending their titles soon. Also, thanks to the announcement, The War Raiders are back in WWE.
Adam Pearce announced that there would be a tag team tournament that would see the stars defend their championship against the winner of the tournament.
The first match took place, and that immediately saw the return of a huge tag team, with The Viking Raiders returning as The War Raiders. This was their first match together as a team for the first time in 13 months, as they wrestled as a team in September 2023.
Now, the two have faced Alpha Academy in the first match of the tournament to qualify and move on to the next round.
