Adam Pearce announces major WWE championship match for upcoming Monday Night RAW
WWE RAW General Manager, Adam Pearce recently confirmed a huge title match for the upcoming edition of the red brand's show. The 46-year-old official took to social media to share the announcement.
Things haven't been easy for Scrap Iron lately on the show. Pearce has been facing challenges dealing with several stars, including Drew McIntyre, CM Punk, and Bron Breakker. But it looks like the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion's got things under control for the next show.
WWE dropped a video message from Adam Pearce on X (formerly Twitter) revealing a championship clash. The 46-year-old official announced that Sami Zayn will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Ilja Dragunov on the July 15 edition of Monday Night RAW.

Pearce also made it official that 'Big' Bronson Reed would go head-to-head against the former World Champion, Sheamus. He asserted he would keep a close eye on The Scottish Warrior to ensure smooth business operations, following the latter's outburst at the Money in the Bank post-show.
Wrestling veteran says top WWE Superstar's segment with Adam Pearce had a hidden meaning
During the July 8 episode of the red brand's show, CM Punk confronted Adam Pearce backstage. The Straight Edge Superstar demanded that the 46-year-old WWE official lift Drew McIntyre's suspension. However, the RAW GM countered by telling Punk to take a week off, as The Scottish Warrior was scheduled to return then.
The Second City Saint appeared to be irritated at this suggestion, as he wasn't going to be present the following week. According to Vince Russo on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, the segment aimed to show The Best in the World as a rating magnet. He even predicted that the next edition of the red brand would definitely garner more ratings than the previous week.
"Then, and this guy is smarter than that, he’s in the back with Pearce, and what does he say to Pearce? ‘I am not going to be here next week.’ Why would you ever say that in a million years? Do you know why he said that? Because we’re gonna see the ratings are higher this week than last week so you will know how valuable CM Punk is when he’s not on the show next week," said Russo.
As of now, CM Punk is still not medically cleared for in-ring action. It remains to be seen if Pearce will keep a contract ready for a potential SummerSlam clash between Drew McIntyre and the former WWE Champion next month.
