Adam Pearce breaks silence with three-word message following major WWE announcement

WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce shared a social media update reacting to the Stamford-based company's announcement today. The promotion confirmed a wrestling legend's appearance for Saturday Night's Main Event.

Earlier today, the global juggernaut revealed that WWE Hall of Famer Jesse 'The Body' Ventura will be on commentary at the show scheduled for December 14. He signed a Legend's contract with the company earlier this year. The 73-year-old was also backstage before the start of the go-home edition of Monday Night RAW ahead of SummerSlam.

Adam Pearce broke his silence on the topic and took to his X (fka Twitter) account to reshare WWE's post announcing Jesse Ventura's return for Saturday Night's Main Event with a three-word message.

"It is official," he wrote.

Adam Pearce discusses what it means to be an authority figure on WWE television

Adam Pearce has been playing the role of a WWE authority figure since 2020. He appeared on both brands before being announced as RAW General Manager in 2023.

Speaking on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Pearce opened up about the role of an authority figure in WWE. He pointed out that a General Manager only plays a supporting character, as the superstars are always the focal points.

"This position [of a General manager], okay, it's a supporting character on a television show that, by definition, isn't there to overshadow or step on the superstars. They are the beacons that we want the eyes focused on. But the General Manager or the WWE official that I played for years before that, that's an informational conduit to what you just said, to make sure that everybody understands the context to what is happening with these larger-than-life characters that are on their screens every Monday and every Friday. And sometimes they're the focus of the direction of the story, [and] sometimes the GM is there to change the direction of the story but the story is always about the superstar," he said.

Adam Pearce retired from in-ring action in 2014. However, a few weeks ago, the 46-year-old teased coming out of retirement to face SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who last wrestled in 2023. It remains to be seen if the two former NWA World Heavyweight Champions will compete inside a WWE ring anytime in the near future.
