Adam Pearce sends heartfelt message to his WWE "partner"
WWE RAW general manager Adam Pearce recently sent a heartwarming message to his "partner" following the latest edition of the red show. The name in question is former Women's Tag Team Champion, Sonya Deville.
Daddy Deville served as an assistant to Adam Pearce following her return to WWE television in 2021. The two played the role of an on-screen authority figure on Friday Night SmackDown. However, she made a full-time return to in-ring action the following year.
Adam Pearce took to his X (fka Twitter) account earlier today to send a message to Sonya Deville as the latter turned 31. The RAW general manager reshared WWE's post, wishing the star a happy birthday. Interestingly, Pearce wrote 'Happy 29' in his X/Twitter update.
Sonya Deville recently formed a faction alongside Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. Their group, Pure Fusion Collective, is currently feuding with Lyra Valkyria, Zelina Vega, and recently returned Natalya.
Adam Pearce reveals the role of a WWE general manager
Adam Pearce became an on-screen authority figure in 2020. The former NWA World Heavyweight Champion handled both RAW and SmackDown before the introduction of Nick Aldis as the blue brand's general manager in 2023. Pearce, on the other hand, was named the general manager for the Monday Night Show.
During a recent appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Adam Pearce opened up about the role of a general manager. The 46-year-old said a GM played a supporting character to aid the superstars. He claimed that the authority figure could play a massive role in changing the direction of a given storyline, but the main focus always remained on the in-ring performers.
"This position [of a general manager], okay, it's a supporting character on a television show that, by definition, isn't there to overshadow or step on the superstars. They are the beacons that we want the eyes focused on. But the general manager or the WWE official that I played for years before that, that's an informational conduit to what you just said, to make sure that everybody understands the context to what is happening with these larger-than-life characters that are on their screens every Monday and every Friday. And sometimes they're the focus of the direction of the story, [and] sometimes the GM is there to change the direction of the story but the story is always about the superstar," he said.
Adam Pearce made two major announcements on the latest edition of Monday Night RAW. He added a rare stipulation to the Women's World Championship match scheduled for Bad Blood to prevent Dominik Mysterio from interfering in the contest. Secondly, Pearce announced a "Last Monster Standing" Match between Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed for next week.
