AJ Lee shares one-word response to current WWE star's new project

AJ Lee hasn't stepped into a wrestling ring in almost a decade, but since her husband, CM Punk, made his return to WWE, it seems that speculation about her return won't go away.

The former Divas Champion has been content with her own projects outside of WWE for nine years, but it seems that she has remained close friends with several of her former colleagues, including Naomi and Bayley.

Naomi recently shared a picture of her on set for the Queen of the Ring movie, something that AJ Lee has commented on. Naomi is pictured in her role as Ethel Johnson in the biopic of Mildred Burke, who was a pioneer in women's wrestling at a time when it was banned as a sport for most women.

Fellow WWE Superstar Jade Cargill commented on the pic, claiming that she was proud. AJ Lee also left a one-word comment to show her appreciation:

"Gorgeous," wrote Lee.

According to IMBD, the film is set for release this Friday, which could be the reason for the latest update from Naomi.

Will AJ Lee ever make her return to WWE and reunite with CM Punk?

It's been almost a year since CM Punk made his return to the company that he walked out on back in 2014, and in that time, there have been a number of updates on Lee's potential return.

At present, it seems that there are no actual plans for her to return, but WrestleVotes has noted that if this opportunity did arise, then WWE would be open to doing business with her once again.

Lee is currently working on her own comic book and appears content with life away from the wrestling world since she noted in her biography that she achieved everything she wanted in WWE and also left the company with a nasty back injury, which is seemingly still a problem nine years later.
