AJ Styles' bad injury reason revealed; referee forced to stop WWE SmackDown match after star collapsed
AJ Styles returned to action on WWE SmackDown after a long time. The star had been out of action for a while. Unfortunately, things didn't go well and there's a lot to worry about now for the star.
The former world champion was left very hurt during his match against Carmelo Hayes. His return was interrupted by the former NXT Champion, and the two ended up in a match, with the younger star trying to prove himself against an established veteran. However, during the bout, things went wrong. Styles landed badly and hurt his leg, which led to the referee being forced to stop the match when he ended up collapsing moments later.
Corey Graves pointed out the moment where the injury happened and then went on to say that the referee had no choice but to stop the match when AJ Styles was unable to support his own weight and collapsed.
"Where we're speculating where we think the injury may have occurred, AJ coming up... yeah that could have been it right there. And this is where everything went south. AJ unable to support his own weight, drives Hayes down on it."

The star had to be helped to the back. It remains to be seen when AJ Styles will be able to return to action.
