AJ Styles turning down HOF induction is due to having his "feelings hurt," says WWE veteran (Exclusive)

WWE Superstar AJ Styles recently turned down a Hall of Fame induction, which led to much buzz in the pro-wrestling community. A veteran believes the reason may be his feelings about the company offering him the induction.

Apart from his career in WWE, AJ has made waves in other places as well, with one of them being TNA. However, his departure from TNA was not exactly amicable, as negotiations about his contract fell through and he ended his 12-year relationship with the company. Recently, TNA offered to induct him into their Hall of Fame, which Styles refused.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's SmackTalk, Dutch Mantel made a guess regarding the reason AJ turned down the Hall of Fame induction. He stated:

"I think he's a little pissed off at TNA you know, they tried to treat him just a little bit badly when he left. And I think they kinda... You know you can have your feelings hurt. After all he did for TNA and now they're trying to him this that, well he's not gonna... And I don't think he even wants to stain his WWE induction, which he will be inducted." [4:36 onwards]

The WWE star has commented on the reason for his refusal

AJ Styles has attempted to clear the confusion about refusing to accept the TNA Hall of Fame induction.

Taking to social media, Styles explained that he was still an active wrestler in the Stamford-based promotion. He wrote that he still appreciated TNA, despite his decision:

"I’m still an active wrestler…I hope. I made the decision not to go into the TNA HOF, not WWE. I appreciate TNA, but I don’t want to go into any HOF as long as I’m still active. My choice," he said.
