Asuka hints at major reunion upon WWE return
Asuka teased a major reunion upon her WWE return today on social media. The Damage CTRL member has not competed in a match since WWE Backlash in May and was pulled from the Queen of the Ring tournament earlier this year due to a knee injury.
The Empress of Tomorrow took to Instagram today to tease a reunion with a popular star when she returns to WWE television. She shared an image from the film Predator of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers shaking hands and added "Kabuki Warriors" in her post. The veteran also added the song "We Are The Champions" by Queen.
You can check out her message in the Instagram post below.
Asuka and Kairi Sane are known as The Kabuki Warriors and the popular duo are also members of Damage CTRL. The Kabuki Warriors have captured the Women's Tag Team Championships twice during their time as a duo so far.
WWE RAW star names Asuka as her dream opponent
Sonya Deville recently shared that Asuka was her dream opponent in the company.
Deville is currently a part of Pure Fusion Collective alongside Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark on WWE RAW. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on the INSIGHT podcast, the former Women's Tag Team Champion named the 43-year-old as her dream opponent and noted that they had never had a rivalry on the main roster:
“I’ve had a million matches with her but not a lot televised, and never a singles televised to my knowledge. Asuka is one of my favourite opponents. We would have awesome matches down in NXT seven years ago, eight years ago on live events and road loops. And it was my favourite match to this day, but we never got an angle on TV," said Deville.
Deville added that the two stars have rarely been on the same brand together, and would love the opportunity to have a lengthy match against the former champion:
"And then it would be like, I go to Raw she got to SmackDown she go to SmackDown I go to Raw and we just keep playing tag and not catching each other. So I was like, if I could paint the perfect picture, I would love to have like a two-three seg match with Asuka and just mess each other up," said Deville. (H/T Chris Van Vliet)

Dakota Kai recently returned from injury and admitted that Damage CTRL missed their stablemate. Kai defeated Katana Chance and Shayna Baszler last night on WWE RAW to advance in the Women's Intercontinental Championship tournament.
