Asuka shows off stunning new look amid future WWE uncertainty
Asuka showed off a new look today on social media amid uncertainty regarding her WWE future. The veteran has not competed in a match since WWE Backlash earlier this year in May.
Damage CTRL's Asuka and Kairi Sane (The Kabuki Warriors) dropped the Women's Tag Team Championship to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at Backlash. The Empress of Tomorrow was supposed to compete in the Queen of the Ring tournament earlier this year but was pulled due to a knee injury and still has not returned to the ring.
She took to social media today to show off a new hairstyle, and you can check it out in the post below.
The former champion's Damage CTRL stablemate, Dakota Kai, is also out with an injury. The 36-year-old tore her ACL last year and is currently on the shelf with a torn meniscus.
WWE star Asuka shares injury update
Asuka recently provided an unfortunate update for fans as she recovers from her knee injury.
The Damage CTRL star signed with the promotion in 2015 and has accomplished a lot during her tenure with the company. She had a historic reign as NXT Women's Champion and has had success on the main roster as well. Despite all of her accomplishments, Asuka has never won a match at WWE WrestleMania.
The RAW star took to social media last month to share an update on her injury. She noted that she was still in the process of getting treatment for her knee and was not able to get inside the ring. She added that she would continue to keep fans entertained on social media on her road to recovery.
"I'm in the middle of treatment for my knee and can't get in the ring. So I just entertain everyone on Twitter."

The nine-time champion reportedly signed a new contract with WWE earlier this year despite being out with an injury. It will be fascinating to see what the company has planned for her when she is cleared to return to the ring down the line.
