Austin Theory sends one-word message after missing WWE SmackDown owing to health
Austin Theory is one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions on Friday Night SmackDown. His tag partner, Grayson Waller, gave an update regarding his absence from the blue brand's latest episode.
The Aussie Icon claimed that Theory had dental surgery, and that is why the former United States Champion was not in Chicago. His tag team partner corroborated the story via social media.
Taking to Instagram, Austin Theory has shared a picture with the caption "Live" on it. The week prior, he took a bullet for Waller at the hands of DIY's Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. Whether they receive a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship soon remains to be seen.
"Live," wrote Austin Theory.
Theory has been showing signs of a face turn on SmackDown, as there seems to be growing frustration between him and Grayson Waller. Meanwhile, Randy Orton seems to be high on the former United States Champion. The Legend Killer believes Austin Theory is a future World Champion.
Austin Theory teases a future tag team rivalry with Randy Orton on WWE SmackDown
Grayson Waller and Austin Theory retrieved the blue brand's Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania XL. The duo's first feud since the win appears to be against DIY. Elsewhere on SmackDown, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens have formed an alliance, predominantly to take down The Bloodline.
Speaking on the Battleground Podcast recently, Theory reacted to Orton giving him high praise. He claimed that whatever the 14-time World Champion said about him was true, but that would not stop The Viper from putting him down if he had to, should a challenge arise over the WWE Tag Team Championship:
"Coming down the road, if Randy's there, I won't have any sympathy, though. Because, these Tag Team Championships — I know he likes running around with Kevin Owens, if they decide to come our way, Just remember Randy what you said. Remember all those things you said. Because you said you weren't where you were at when you were my age. So just remember that."
WWE seems to be going very slow with the rivalry between DIY and the tag champs. Perhaps a match between the two teams with the title on the line could be booked for the upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event? Only time will tell.
