Backstage favoritism should not lead to huge mistake at Money in the Bank, warns veteran after big clash on WWE RAW (Exclusive)
The final episode of WWE RAW before Money in the Bank saw an epic confrontation between Sami Zayn and Bron Breakker. However, former WWE head writer and wrestling veteran Vince Russo believes that Triple H must avoid making a massive mistake in their upcoming Intercontinental Championship match because of backstage reasons.
Breakker has wreaked havoc on Monday Night RAW ever since he was overlooked in the King of the Ring Tournament. He bulldozed his way into the title picture on WWE RAW and was granted a shot at the Intercontinental Championship by Sami Zayn.
The latter cut a promo on the red brand this week in which he said that he would beat Bron Breakker and retain the Intercontinental Championship at Money in the Bank. Vince Russo criticized the idea of Sami Zayn potentially beating Breakker while reviewing the latest episode on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW.
Russo stated that it would be unbelievable to have Zayn go over Breakker. He argued that even if Zayn is well-liked by several in the WWE creative team backstage, that shouldn't lead to the booking of his successful title defense at Money in the Bank.
"Bro, I am telling you. Remember I told you about the Bret Hart rule, this bothers me deeply. Why is Sami Zayn saying I am going to beat Bron Breakker at Money in the Bank unless he is going to beat Bron Breakker at Money in the Bank, bro? If they put him over Bron Breakker I am sorry bro I throw my hands up in the air. You know guys, I gotta tell you when I was at the WWE there were some wrestlers I liked more than others, okay? no question about it, bro. I was not going to let that affect my booking and it never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever affected my booking. Somebody loves Sami Zayn, maybe a number of people love Sami, but you expect me to believe that this guy can beat Bron Breakker?" (57:58 - 59:05)

Bron Breakker destroyed Sami Zayn on WWE RAW before Money in the Bank
The Intercontinental Champion decided to put his title on the line against Bron Breakker at Money in the Bank after he saw the latter attack Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser at ringside. Breakker has been a menace on RAW lately but Sami Zayn arguably did a fine job studying his challenger.
Breakker crossed paths with Zayn on WWE RAW this week and said he respected the champion for giving him a title shot. However, the promo war soon turned into a brawl, and Breakker hit Zayn with a Spear. He left the ring but returned to attack the champion again, but this time Sami Zayn was ready.
He jumped over a charging Breakker, causing the challenger to run into the steel steps and gain an advantage. But Breakker managed to get back and hit Sami Zayn with a Spear, standing tall in their last meeting on WWE RAW before their title match at Money in the Bank.
