Baron Corbin confirms major project had begun before his WWE exit
Baron Corbin was among the three former WWE Superstars who exited the company recently. Corbin ended his 12-year run with the Stamford-based promotion.
Corbin's main roster debut took place at WrestleMania 32 in 2016, where he won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Despite some significant highs, there were also several colossal lows in the former Money in the Bank winner's WWE career. Before his exit from the promotion, The Lone Wolf was reportedly filming a commercial for Netflix as the company is moving to the global streaming platform in January 2025.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported on X (fka Twitter) that WWE had the 40-year-old shooting the commercial six days before he was told his contract wouldn't be extended. Corbin has now confirmed these reports by responding to Sapp's post.
"That is a fact," he wrote.

Before his exit from WWE, Baron Corbin was moved to Friday Night SmackDown after a fairly successful run in NXT. On the black-and-silver brand, The Lone Wolf was rejuvenated and had a noteworthy storyline when Shawn Michaels decided to pair him with current Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker.
The two formed a tag team dubbed 'Wolf Dogs' and held the NXT Tag Team Championship once.
Bron Breakker talks about Wolf Dogs in WWE NXT, chemistry with Baron Corbin
In an interview with Cameron Hawkins of The Ringer, Bron Breakker reflected on his former partnership with Baron Corbin.
Breakker recalled that he and the former Money in the Bank winner instantly clicked and admitted that the experience he gained working with the 40-year-old helped bring out a different side of him. He added that both of them had a ball working together.
"Baron nand I had hit it off from the get-go. As soon as he came down to NXT, we hit it off immediately. It was really cool for me to be able to get to work with him because obviously, it brought out a different side of me where I was being a little bit more entertaining, just being funny, just goofing off. We both were just loving it and having a great time," he said. [HT: Wrestletalk]
Although it appeared they were going to continue together as a tag team on SmackDown in 2024, the Wolf Dogs were ultimately split up. As part of the annual WWE Draft, Bron Breakker moved to RAW while the veteran was drafted to the blue brand.
