Baron Corbin reacts to 37-year-old WWE Superstar's sudden squash win

WWE Superstar Baron Corbin is a respected veteran who performs on the SmackDown brand. He recently reacted to a 37-year-old WWE Superstar’s insanely quick victory this week on the blue brand after he pinned his opponent without taking any damage in less than five seconds.

Apollo Crews faced off against Giovanni Vinci as the latter’s first opponent after a long-awaited return. Vinci didn’t make any TV appearances after Ludwig Kaiser kicked him out of The Imperium. However, after weeks of teasing a very powerful comeback, he lost as soon as the bell rang.

Notably, Vinci was taking a long time to get ready and remove his jacket despite the referee repeatedly telling him to hurry up. He was still distracted and looking the other way while taking his jacket off when the referee frustratedly started the match. Within seconds of the bell ringing, Crews rolled him up for the pin. Following this, Baron Corbin posted a tweet on X and reacted to the victory of his tag team partner.

“Maybe I’m bad luck for my boy haha,” wrote Corbin.

Notably, Corbin seemingly pointed out how Crews doesn’t win a lot of matches when teamed up with him. But, as soon as he went for a singles match, with Corbin not even present at ringside, he secured a quick squash win.

Why did Giovanni Vinci lose in such terrible fashion after his WWE return?

Several members of the WWE Universe were shocked to see Giovanni Vinci take such a woeful loss after he was hyped as a larger-than-life figure for weeks in the vignettes aired previously. However, some felt that this was exactly the kind of reaction the creative team wanted to generate for the returning superstar.

A victory for Vinci this week wouldn’t have secured such big reactions and now fans are hooked to find out how he will bounce back. However, according to reports from WrestleVotes, not every key WWE figure was supposedly on board with Vinci’s direction.

Thus, it can be said that the company is trying something very new for the former Imperium member. He could be part of a bigger storyline as a singles superstar, something which is highly needed on SmackDown right now compared to the star-studded roster on RAW. It would be interesting to see how Vinci climbs to reach the greatness he talked about in his promos.
