Batista encourages massive WWE star to step away from wrestling to pursue a Hollywood careerĀ

Batista recently named which WWE Superstar he believes should pursue an acting career. He claimed a massive RAW star should step away from wrestling to pursue Hollywood.

Batista recently starred in The Killer's Game, in which Drew McIntyre played a role. Speaking to BuzzFeed Celeb, the former World Heavyweight Champion was asked which current superstar he thought had the "acting chops." The Animal surprisingly named The Scottish Warrior's current WWE rival, CM Punk.

Batista claimed Punk is a "great actor," stating that he has unlimited potential in acting. However, he would not be able to fully pursue a career in the business unless he lets go of professional wrestling:

"Oh, you know who I think was really overlooked as an actor, I don't know if he hasn't pursued it as much as he'd like to because he's still heavily pursuing professional wrestling, but is CM Punk, Phil Brooks. His potential in acting is pretty unlimited. So, I really wanna see more from him in acting. And I'd really love to work with him, cause I think he has a passion for acting. But I think still his heart is in professional wrestling. Until he's able to let that go a little bit, he'll never be able to fully envelop himself in acting. But I think Phil Brooks is, he's a great actor," he said. [9:41 - 10:11]

Batista explained why he left WWE to pursue an acting career

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Batista addressed why he decided to leave WWE to pursue an acting career in Hollywood.

The Animal disclosed that he felt embarrassed after doing the movie Wrong Side of Town in 2010 and realized he was a horrible actor. Hence, he wanted to get better and prove himself:

"I went and did this film [Wrong Side of Town] and I realized what a horrible actor I was. I was so bad. I was really embarrassed. I just wanted to prove to myself that I can be better and I left that set just feeling unfulfilled. I had the itch and I just wanted to get better. And, Wrong Side of Town kinda started my whole journey," Batista said.
