Batista made ex-WWE star "hate his job" for one reason
Over the years, WWE has had several impressive superstars come through their ranks. One of the best is undoubtedly Batista. The Animal was a force to be reckoned with, leaving many of his opponents devastated. Recently, one former star claimed that he felt he hated his job because of the Hollywood star.
Maven worked in WWE between 2001 and 2005. During his run, he faced The Animal on several occasions. However, contrary to what some might believe, his reason for hating his job complements the former three-time WWE Champion's skill as a wrestler.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Maven explained what taking the Dune actor's finisher felt like. Putting wrestling finishers in a tier list, he recalled how one particular Batista Bomb made him "hate his job." The night in question was back in 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio, when a rookie LeBron James was in attendance.
"That's right, LeBron James in his first year in the league was ringside. Dave [Batista] and I actually worked close to him, and then that was the end of the fun night for me in that match. The Batista Bomb that night, and I'm assuming Dave was amped up and Dave was excited, but when he delivered me to the mat, it was definitely one of those moves I felt," he said.
Maven continued:
"In general, this was a move I took many times from him and he always delivered me safe. But again, when you're dealing with gravity and on top of that dealing with gravity and the force from an extremely strong guy, I've had funner nights. Let's just put it that way. The Batista Bomb. I hate this job." [From 09:55 to 10:44]
It's hard for anyone to imagine what taking a wrestling finisher is like, let alone a Batista Bomb. But, from how Maven describes it, it sure sounds as ruthless as the man delivering it.
WWE Universe would love to see Batista back in the ring
It has been five years since Dave Bautista announced his retirement from professional wrestling. Following a match with Triple H at WrestleMania 35, he has been pursuing his Hollywood career.
Acting in franchises like Dune, Guardians of the Galaxy, Blade Runner, and more, The Animal is doing quite well for himself. However, after seeing pictures of his stunning new body transformation, WWE Universe desperately wants him back in the ring.
Based on his recent pictures, he certainly looks to be in impeccable shape. It's no wonder fans want to see him gear up again. But, whether or not that will ever happen remains to be seen.
